How to Get Your Discord Bot Token for StreamBruh

Step-by-step setup

   Create your Discord application

   Sign in to the Discord Developer Portal and choose New Application. Give the application the name your community should recognize. Select the new application, then open Bot in its left navigation. New applications have a bot user by default.

   Generate and copy the bot token

   Under Bot → Token, choose Reset Token and complete any required confirmation. Copy the new token immediately to a password manager. Discord will not show it again; resetting it later invalidates the previous token.

   Use the bot token from the Bot page, not the Application ID, OAuth2 Client Secret, public key, or your personal Discord account credentials. Never post the token in chat, screenshots, source control, or a public support ticket.

   Connect the bot in StreamBruh

   Sign in to StreamBruh, select a Discord server you own or can manage, and open Bot & integrations. Paste the token in Discord bot token and save. StreamBruh validates the bot and stores the token encrypted; a saved token is not displayed again.

   If you already saved a token, leave its field blank to keep it. Paste a new token only when you intend to replace the saved one.

   Invite and authorize the bot

   After the bot is configured, use Invite Bot in Bot & integrations. Select the intended server and review the permissions in Discord. StreamBruh requests View Channels, Send Messages, Manage Messages, Embed Links, Attach Files, and Read Message History; it does not request Administrator.

   Choose a destination channel in each notification configuration. Check the bot role and channel overrides: it must be able to view and send messages in that channel. Keep permissions limited to what your server needs.

   Create your first notification

   Add Twitch, Kick, or YouTube credentials only for the providers you intend to use. Create a notification, select a sendable Discord channel, and save it. StreamBruh checks providers on a schedule; delivery also depends on provider availability and the bot retaining access.

   Use your server or app emojis

   Standard emoji such as 😀 can be pasted directly. A custom server emoji uses <:name:123456789012345678>; an animated one uses <a:name:123456789012345678>. The name and numeric ID must belong to an emoji the bot is allowed to use. In Discord, you can type a backslash before a selected custom emoji in a draft message to reveal its raw code.

   You can also upload emojis to your own application in the Developer Portal. Discord allows up to 2,000 application-owned emojis, which only that application can use. Find their exact names and IDs in your app settings or with Discord’s List Application Emojis API. Paste the full code anywhere in Main text/Message. To put one on a link button, start Button text with one code followed by a space and a label, for example <:live:123456789012345678> Watch now. The button can display only one custom emoji; extra codes are rejected.
