How to Get a Kick Client ID and Client Secret
Kick notifications use a Kick application you create. StreamBruh uses its Client ID and Client Secret to obtain an app access token for public stream and category data; no viewer account authorization is needed for this flow.
Step-by-step setup
Enable Kick developer access
Sign in to a Kick account and turn on two-factor authentication in account settings. Review Kick’s developer terms before creating an app.
Create a Kick app
Open Account Settings → Developer and create an application. Fill in the requested app details and redirect URL. Kick creates a Client ID and Client Secret for the app.
The redirect URL belongs to Kick’s authorization-code setup. StreamBruh’s public-data checks use client credentials, so that redirect is not a StreamBruh callback. Use a URL you control for the registration field.
Store both credentials safely
Copy the Client ID and Client Secret from the Developer settings. Keep the secret private. If you rotate or replace it later, update the saved value in StreamBruh before expecting alerts to continue.
Save and test in StreamBruh
In Bot & integrations, paste the values into Kick Client ID and Kick Client Secret, save, then choose Test Kick credentials. A saved value is masked; leave its field blank to retain it when editing.
Configure a Kick notification
Follow a creator with their Kick username or channel URL, or create a game/category alert by selecting a Kick category. Optionally choose language and set the viewer minimum to at least 3. Select a Discord channel the bot can use and save the notification. StreamBruh checks on a schedule.
Check your setup
- Test Kick credentials reports success.
- The Kick creator or category resolves in the form.
- The selected Discord channel is visible and sendable to the bot.
Troubleshooting
Developer tab is unavailable
Check that 2FA is enabled on the Kick account and refresh account settings. Kick may change the location or availability of developer tools.
Credential test fails
Confirm both values come from the same Kick app and have not been rotated. Recopy them without spaces.
No matching stream is posted
Check the creator’s live status or the selected category, language, and minimum viewers. Provider availability and Discord channel permissions also affect scheduled delivery.
